Alder Leaf Photogram Block
Description
A unique photogram of a fragile Alder leaf, mounted on hardwood blocks~I made this photogram in a black and white darkroom and then divided the image on two wooden blocks. The print is mounted and sealed with clear archival varnish, giving the surface a slight texture. The wood has been stained a rich, smooth walnut (semi-gloss).
The blocks sit freestanding. Place on your desk, tabletop or shelf ~ you can display them stacked flush or slightly ajar for an interesting look.
When stacked, the image measures 3" x 4" (each block is 2" x 3") and just under an inch in thickness. The combination of the black and white image with the lovely woodgrain create a simple but striking appearance.
