Yellow Etched Decorative Porcelain Vase

Here is a lovely ornately decorated porcelain vase that would make an excellent gift for the holidays, be a great addition to your collection or make a wonderful centerpiece with a bouquet or displayed as is. The exterior surface has a wonderful tactile quality and in my experience, people are drawn to pick it up and feel the surface. It is porcelain thrown on the wheel and electric fired. There are layers of decoration on the exterior of the vase. This effect is achieved by painting by hand a design with a resist and washing away some of the clay on the exposed raw clay. This all happens when the clay is dry but before it is fired. After two layers of resist and two dissolving of clay sessions, a black slip is applied to the crevices created by the etching. Later the piece was glazed with a translucent golden yellow glaze. Dishwasher and microwave safe. It's dimensions are 7.5 inches in diameter and 7.75 inches tall.
