BRACELET Green Jade & Glass with Sterling & Thai Silver Knotted on Leather

This is another of my hand-knotted, leather bracelets. The combination of large, green faceted cut glass beads, with a carved jade round bead, two art glass (lampwork) spacer beads and a mix of heavy sterling silver and Thai Karen Hilltribe silver beads make this a very unique and definitely a one-of-a-kind bracelet!

This piece is very comfortable to put on and wear. It has a wonderful 'Song Bell' which was hand crafted in a very primitive way (trust me I am a metalsmith now and this is amazing workmanship) by a memeber of the Karen (pronounced Kah-wren) hilltribe in Thailand. Each song bell, is truly what it means: they are crafted to recreate a song or a prayer to perhaps a spirit or an animal of the Karen homeland. It has interesting little stamped patterns on the face of it.

Also in this piece are a couple of Karen silver (very fine silver, 99.99% silver - as pure as it is alloyed and hence very white in color and very soft)charms - one flower, which populate their world and their designs and heart with a wonderful pattern stamped inside.

I made the closure or a sort of clasp by taking one of the Karen folded or woven flat rondelle beds which slips through a loop in this soft, light brown leather. Various stamped and carved beads caps and sterling silver tube beads finish this piece out.

It is just about 8" in length, as it can stretch ever-so slightly to be closed and for wearing on a larger wrist. It sits comfortably around the wrist bones and single a little, sweet song with its bell as you move throughout your day.
