Caught Creatures is the world's finest Monster-Art-Haiku book. Yes, that's probably the best way to describe it, as I've never seen any other such books.

I illustrated, wrote, designed, layed out, this book, and then had it professionally printed. I did everything myself, besides the actual printing.

Caught Creatures is full of monsters (mostly those that are caught), a Haiku for each one, and well, lots and lots of full color monster art. 48 pages, in fact.

I created this book for my son Kaid. He's inherited my love of monsters and the desire to hunt them down and capture them for their monster gold.

Though I wanted to make it for a kid, Caught Creatures isn't strictly a kid's book. It's full of references to 70's and 80's americana; video games, chopper bikes, old guitars, and vintage lighting. Most kids won't get it as much as their parents will... it's a wink and a nod to hip parents everywhere.

Caught Creatures is influenced by the 1970's as well as the Pop Surrealism/Lowbrow Art movement; Tim Biskup, Dave Wasoon, Junko Mizno, Mark Ryden, Bob Dob, and tons of other talented illustrators and painters. Vintage toys, old cartoons, and sugary cereal all have contributed to my artistic vision.
