Unpainted Shrine Frame

Description

The shrine frame is 9 inches high and 4 1/2 inches wide when closed. Open, it measures about 9 inches wide. It will hold a 3 1/2 by 5 inches image covered with a glass pane. These shrines are made exclusively for Maison Celeste - they cannot be found anywhere else! Believe me - I tried, and had to have them made.

These photos are of the sample that was sent to me. The actual frame does not have a heart at the top, and the shrine is unvarnished.

This is a great medium - the possibilities are ripe for collage, assemblage, decoupage, painting. You can do as I do, and glue wood appliques to the frame - I put a small piece of wood in the back of the ones I put on top of the frame.

Now, about the back panel - the fit is superior to the retail frames I bought, but it is black. You can just flip it over for a more neutral color to paint on.
