ART DOLL - Believe Angel - Mixed Media ZNE Collage

Description

This beautiful art doll ANGEL holds a heart to her breast, which says "Believe". On the bottom of her robe it reads: "Wheresoever you go, go with all your heart".

She is freestanding and is 12" high and measures 10-1/2" across. Decorated both front and back, she looks beautiful displayed on an end table, coffee table, or dresser.

I spent many loving hours handcrafting this piece. It was inspired by one of my favorite artists, Beryl Taylor. This piece has a little bit of everything! Acrylic paint in red, pink, orange, purple, cream, and black. Plus ink, stamps, decorative papers, tissue paper, vintage book pages, and colored pencils. Not to mention beads, copper wire, a page pebble, copper microbeads, and wooden heart. And let's not forget about the stenciling, gold marker swirls, gold accent paint, and dimensional glaze!(Whoo!! And I'm embarrassed to admit that's only a fraction of the supplies I have in my art studio!) Several coats of satin acrylic varnish were applied for a protective finish.

NOTE: The face image is actually darker than it shows in photograph. The flash on my camera somewhat overexposed the image. Actual piece has more defined facial features.

"Believe" Angel was juried into the Professional Fine Arts division of the 150th Indiana State Fair 2006. She won an Honorable Mention ribbon in the Experimental/Mixed Media Division.
