Victorian Bridal Garter - Large
Description
I fashioned this particular garter using a design created by Lady Duff-Gordon. She was a well-known woman of her day, first for her successful and exclusive lingerie business which featured handmade lace. You may also know that she was a survivor of the Titanic disaster. She was on the fourth lifeboat lowered into the icy waters of the Atlantic early on the morning of April 15, 1912.
I used imported French crochet cotton for this garter and embellished it with a peach-colored satin ribbon carnation. It also features two peach-colored glass leaves.
