Hand-felted Soft Lambswool Wrap

Description

This scarf was machine knitted by me in a soft ivory lambswool with light grey marl through it and stripes of baby blue and dark grey.

I then laid raw wool fibre (tops/roving) across the length and needlepunched these to allow them mesh with the scarf.

The whole thing was hand-felted using a wet process (very messy!). Fibres are mostly white with flashes of hot pink, minty green and charcoal for highlights. I also stitched across some of the sections - part decoration and partly to secure the fibres a bit more.

This is an irregular scarf - it doesn't have a symmetrical pattern, but it is beautiful in its own right. I was inspired by the great Victorian glass-houses in the Royal Botanic Gardens here in Edinburgh when I designed it.

The scarf is a totally unique, one-off design. It's also long enough and wide enough to be used as a wrap.

Handmade in Scotland.

Care Instructions: Very gentle hand-wash only in cool water.
