VELVET GECKO freeform crochet scart or hat and scart combo

Description

Recently a sweet little gecko paid me a visit. I've tentatively identified him as a Robust Velvet Gecko and was so taken by his beautiful colours and markings that Beewise and I got together to make this cute, delicately-colored double-pointed scart (hat-scarf combo). Touches of muted green suggest the little lizard's forest habitat and the scart's slightly taller-than-usual crown section is suggestive of the gecko's head shape.

The yarns used in the creation of this one of a kind, freeform crochet scart are all new and include synthetics, mohair and pure wool. Soft, fuzzy eyelash yarn enlivens and edges the scart while hints of glamourous sparkle flit past the eyes like a speedy gecko within the golden mohair-mix yarn.

The scart was designed to cozy an average-sized adult’s cranium of between 53cm/21" and 58cm/23" in circumference. Its two hand-twisted upper tails with fuzzy tassels fall a total of 15cm/6", with the 10cm/4" long tassels, to hover above the wearer's shoulders.

The Velvet Gecko's earflap-scarf ends are each in a different striped crochet design but are about the same length (112cm/44"), boasting soft, luxuriant fringes of 18cm/7". The scarf ends are just ideal to wrap around your neck for added snugness.

Being robustly-constructed using freeform crochet techniques, this scart should give its owner long, cosy wear. Gentle washing in lukewarm water is recommended.
