The Forest King - 16x24 Limited Edition Giclee on Canvas
Description
The Forest King was created from my original photography of the Angkor Thom in Cambodia. Layering of additional original flora photography and digital painting were added. The main photo used in the artwork was taken at the Bayon located within Angkor Thom. The Bayon features many towers surrounded by the serene smiling face of Jayavarman VII carved in a traditional Buddhist style.Angkor Thom was the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. It was established in the late twelfth century by king Jayavarman VII. It covers an area of 9 km². Angkor Thom remained the capital of a kingdom in decline until it was abandoned some time prior to 1609, when an early western visitor wrote of an uninhabited city, "as fantastic as the Atlantis of Plato"
16x24" giclée on canvas (gallery wrapped)
This edition is limited to 50. Please contact me for the number in the edtion, or I'll email the specific number along with your purchase confirmation.
I hand stretch each canvas over wooden stretcher bars
in a "gallery wrap" style so that the artwork can be enjoyed with or without a frame. The canvas is sealed with a gloss UV spray to protect the work from fading, dust and humidity. All limited edition prints are hand signed and numbered. The canvas is shipped ready to hang with a wire hanger attached. An artist signed certificate of authenticity accompanies each limited edition. No print edition exceeds a quantity of 50 so that each piece is truly "limited" and collectible.
What is a giclee?
A giclée (zhee-CLAY), is an individually produced, high-resolution, high tech reproduction done on a professional large format printer. Giclées can be printed on any number of archival media including canvas. Giclées are superior to traditional lithography in nearly every way. Giclée fine
prints maintain color and quality 15 times longer than a fine art lithograph. The colors are brighter, last longer, and are so high-resolution that they are virtually 'continuous tone', rather than tiny dots. The range, or "gamut" of color for giclées is also far beyond that of lithography, and details are crisper.
Giclée prints should last decades under proper care and are now being collected by museums.
