Serpents Tooth
Description
This is a green glass jar covered with transparent 11/0 glass beads in peyote stitch, then embellished with blood red tiny charlottes. This was, as you might gather from the title, a meditation on what happens when one's children grow up and do hurtful things. I liked the echo of the shape of a real heart in the glass, and the cold feeling of the icy beads pierced with the hot red charlottes. This piece was in a juried show in my hometown. Fully functional as a small vase, it measures 4 inches tall. The name of this piece is actually Serpent's Tooth, but I'm not allowed any apostrophes in the title. :-)Added on Nov 04, 2009
