SPLAT Pin OOAK

Description

"SPLAT!" is one of my personal favorites (and that's hard, since I grow attached to everything I create!)--an ultra-vibrant splash of deep-red-and-hot-pink color; to me it is reminiscent of a deep crater surrounded by the earth through which it has cracked--others have had many alternative interpretations of it, from things as "nice" as "a starburst" to as potentially gruesome as "a bullet-hole" (up to you to decide what meaning you assign to it)!

This nearly-square (1 1/2 x 1 5/8 in.) piece is an "experimental" one, from which more (but never "just like it"!) may arise, essentially a miniature abstract painting (acrylic) on reinforced paper, about 75% of its surface (the pink part) completely encrusted with transparent crystal microbeads, giving it a light-impacted iridescent shimmer that contrasts with the flat, dark-red relief design.
