Tree Bark Ring - sterling - sz 5

Description

This texture is one of my favorites and is just like tree bark to me. It is carved in wax and then cast using the lost wax casting method. No two would ever be alike! So unique and organic.

The size a 5. If you would like one in your size, please let me know and I will be happy to make ring with this wonderful texture just for you! Please note that due to the price of silver, larger rings maybe more expensive to cover the cost of additional silver.

Please allow 7-10 days for a custom cast ring as it takes time to make the wax and do the burn out and clean up process.

Lost wax casting is when you take your wax and make a mold out of investment (which is basically a special kind of plaster). Then you put the mold in a kiln and burn the wax out of the mold at over 1000 degrees. After the wax has burned out of the mold you melt the silver in a crucible and then using a centrifugal casting machine, launch the molten metal in to the mold. Then you have to quench the mold after a cools a bit and then you clean everything up from there!
