Opportunist polymer clay pin
Description
It seems like starlings are everywhere, landing in huge flocks, eating everything in sight, and announcing their presence with a vast variety of chirps, trills, and songs. The local birds aren't fond of them as starlings are known for taking over other birds' nests. They are rather pretty however, with their iridescent black plumage and bright, clown-like feet and beak. "Opportunist" is my rendering of this noisy, invasive, and oddly compelling bird. This original polymer clay pin measures about 5 inches from plume to toe and is another piece in my "Menagerie" pin collection. "Opportunist" is black with iridescent purple and green highlights (something that can be difficult to show in a photo.)
Each of my pins is lovingly handcrafted and assembled with wire, beads, and charms. No two pins are exactly alike.
