Glass Ginkgo Necklace

A new ginkgo leaf design on a yummy new color!

This warm orange fused glass pendant is 1 3/4" h by 1 1/8"w and comes on a 16" heavy (3mm) gunmetal chain w/lobster clasp. (Other lengths available – just ask!)

All of my glass pieces are made by firing art glass in a kiln multiple times in order to fuse it together and achieve the look that I want. I include wire, enamel, and sometimes other elements in these fused glass pieces. All of my glass is annealed properly, or cooled in a temperature controlled environment in which the glass is able to stabilize – this means that the glass is be strong and will not shatter unexpectedly. Though, just like any glass dish or wine glass; my pieces will break if dropped on a hard surface.

My style, you ask? I would describe it as... hmmm... maybe German expressionism meets bubble gum? No – pop rocks, definitely pop rocks. I find inspiration in everything, from nature, architecture, history, current fashion trends, little bits of overheard conversions as I'm walking down the street... everywhere! I love glass as a medium because of its broad color palette, and that it constantly forces me to simplify my ideas into the most basic of design elements.
