Elegantly Waisted Dress

Description

This hand finished dress has been carefully designed and lovingly made by me in a smoke and pet-free home. The fabric has been specially sourced and is Senegalese Bubu type print as worn by those gorgeous and elegant African ladies. My idea has been to use these stunning fabrics in today’s modern shapes. I will not repeat any design in the same fabric so it’s a one of a kind piece. Please note some on some fabrics the prints appear “smudged”. This is due to printing technique used and adds to charm!

This cute dress slips easily over your head, no zips or buttons to fuss with to sit comfortably on the collarbone and fit snugly under the arms. It is made from 100% wax block printed cotton with a multi-coloured abstract print in blue, ocre and purple. This dress is full over the bust and hips and has an elasticated waist highlighted in a contrasting orange cotton. The collar has been embellished with silver beads and orange beads made from lucite and this gives a more ethnic feel . The backside of the collar has been lined in an electric blue cotton mix. All seams are serged.
