sex exploitation political and emotional ambiguity
Description
i was working with a friend on a collaborative art show dedicated to art against fear. he inspired me to create this piece. so, here goes. this is a vintage 1940's Boosey & Hawkes by Aria ukulele. A petite size measuring 20 3/4 inches in length and 6.5 inches at widest point. i covered up the soft cherry wood with images of my psyche ranging from but not limited to sex, exploitation, Gandhi, the berlin wall, Jesus, political ambiguity, and collective submission. i would say every inch of this ukulele is devoured by thought and encumbered by hysteria of body and mind. I do not regularly offer for purchase any of my therapeutic psychosis pieces, however on this occasion i see it fit to be sold.not only have i spent hours and hours cutting setting and placing each individual item in its rightful place, but i also put alot of myself into this piece. it's more than just some images on a mixed media canvas, it is my mind body and a bit of my soul. a slight of all my transgressions and insecurities went into this piece. It is a home away from home.
i hope you appreciate my honesty and i thank you in advance for your consideration.
