My SHRIMPBOAT has a special place in my heart.

When I got pregnant for my duaghter, I was working in Key West, Florida, at the Shrimpdocks in the late 1970s-- a special, but very difficult time in my life. I always feel a sense of nostalgia when I see shrimpboats, especially ones with their 'arms' out, comming into or leaving the marina/docks.

The vivid colors in the sunset are true to nature and are brilliant on the canvas. My duaghter has this hanging in her office.

I have been an artist all of my life, but am a self-taught fine painter and have only been painting since 2000. My work is very realistic, as I get many of my ideas from photographs. SHRIMPBOAT is the very first piece that I painted when teaching myself to paint! Don't let that mislead you, though, all of my work is of the utmost quality and artisanship.-- That's what happens when you're a perfectionist!
