Serpentine/New Jade and Sterling Silver Earrings

Description

The flower shaped bottom of each head pin cradles a serpentine/"new jade"** bead. The head pins are sterling silver as are the small sterling silver beads placed on top of each pale green bead.

The headpins were handwrapped to have long "necks." Rounded, sterling silver earwires anchor the earrings. Each earring measures approximately 1.25 inches/3.18 centimeters from the top of the earwire to the flowered bottom of the headpin.

Serpentine is a semiprecious gemstone. It is sometimes referred to as "new jade", although it is not actually true jade.
