This Cloche/Turban headdress is inspired by Lena Horne from the Cotton Club days. A night club in Harlem, New York City that featured some of the greatest African American entertainers of the era. Despite this the club generally denied admission to African Americans.
The Cotton Club was owned and run by bootleggers and gangsters throughout the 1920's, but was the Hot Spot for celebrities, and a treasure trove of gorgeous fashions.

This cloche hat is a very simple brimless shape, but the fabrics and trims are very rich and classy. The under base is a cotton/poly blend that has a subtle touch of gold sparkle, it is overlayed with black lace that has rows of gathered black satin ribbon. The side is ruched and finished with a removable handmade black velvet flower and feathers.
