Pussietoes original relief woodblock print

Description

"Pussietoes" is an original relief print carved from wood block and printed with oil based ink on Okawara, a handmade Japanese paper. The print is signed and titled on the back with its edition number in pencil. I print each piece by hand with a wooden rice paddle so every one is unique. This piece is one in a limited addition of 8. I used a reduction method meaning that the blocks were destroyed as part of the art-making process and no future editions can be printed.

This particular print was created in 2005 and features one of my favorite models, my cat Horatio. It has been exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Silvermine Arts Guild in CT, and Philadelphia's City Hall.

The image measures 11.5" x 15" and comes with a bright white mat with an opening large enough to expose the lovely, uneven edges of the handmade paper. Both the mat and acid free foam core backing measure 16" x 20" – a standard frame size for customers' convenience.
