Description

The fabric covering this 128-page journal always reminds me of learning cursive writing in the third grade. I was the kid who always worked ahead of my classmates . . . . constantly being reprimanded for not having listened to the teacher's instructions.

This journal is made from acid-free Davey board that is covered with bookcloth made by me. Fabric is backed with acid-free mulberry paper, creating a non-porous surface that can be pasted to bookboard.

Pages are cut with a paper knife from sheets of white Hahnemuhle Ingres paper. Cutting pages by hand simulates the paper's original mouldmade deckled edges. This paper is suitable for writing, charcoal, printmaking, and pastels.

Covers are cut from acid-free Davey board. The binding is sewn with a light blue waxed linen thread that picks up the sky blue lines on the fabric. Please note that I have three of these available and the one I ship may be slightly different from the one pictured here.

Journal measures 6.5" in height, 5.25" across when closed, and features a .75" width spine. Textblock is slightly smaller than cover dimensions.
