Bug of the desert

Description

I love bugs! This one was created from my imagination. He is a companion of the Fossil Bug.

This is an original, OOAK (one of a kind) monotype. A monotype is a kind of printmaking where I apply ink to a plexiglass plate. Sometimes, like with this one, I apply other inked shapes to the top of the plate. I then place a dampened sheet of printmaking paper to the plate and roll the whole thing through a printmaking press. The pressure of the press causes wonderful textures. Each time a print is created, the plate is wiped clean. That is why each one is unique. "Mono" means "one". This is signed and numbered 1/1.

The art measures 5 x 7" (12,7 x 17,78 cm) and the paper measures 9 x 12" (22,86 x 30,48 cm). The paper is a professional printmaking paper and has a torn (or deckled) edge. It will come with a foamcore backing and inside a cellophane sleeve for protection. The art is easily removed from the backing for framing.
