Broken Brown China with Beaded Bezel

Description

The pendant for this necklace was created with a piece of broken china with a milk chocolate brown pattern.
Around the broken china, I have hand beaded a bezel using a light sea foam colored Delica seed beads. This has been done using the peyote stitch. This stitching holds the china piece down securely.
The bail was created with peyote stitch. Around the outside edge is a picot stitch.
Along the top edge of the piece are seven beaded loops that give the illusion of a bow or flower.
The backing is soft brown faux leather.
The pendant hangs on a single strand of the delica seed beads. The necklace fastens with a bead loop on one end and a glass bead on the other end. The necklace is 16 inches long.

This was a fun piece to do because not only do you end up with a cute fashionable necklace; it is also a way to preserve a little bit of old.
