Diddle Diddle Christmas

Description

This is an 8" x 10" (20.32 cm x 25.4 cm) original watercolor and soft pastel painting/drawing on illustration board, matted with backing for an 11" x 14" frame.

Diddle Mouse was born one day as I doodled with my toddler aged daughter. I named him after her favorite nonsense word. At a year old she was always telling people "diddle diddle Cadillac" (we never did figure out what it meant).

*** I have just learned that there is a popular German character named "Diddl" who is also a mouse. Is this what my daughter has been saying all along??? Has someone been teaching her German when I am not looking? Mysterious! At any rate, as you can see, they are no relation.
