Blue and Teal Bookmark Tie

Description

This is a paper flower that can be used as a thong style bookmark or can be tied around the neck of a vase or jar. It would look great tied around the neck of a wine bottle you are giving as a gift. With a little creativity, there are many ways to use this unique paper flower.

It was made by layering different colored and textured papers. There is brown paper striped with gold, teal/aqua, and pear greeen, a tealish-blue paper that i painted brown dots on, and a plain brown paper. I have painted of the edges with acrylic paints. For the center of the flower I used some teal shimmery eyelash yarn and topped it off with a glass brown with gold speck bead. I painted teal acrylic dots on the brown underside of the flower. Underneath the flower is two pear-green with teal flower print leaves that are also painted around the edges. The leaves are strung on, so they can be twisted around and positioned as you wish.

It is held together with a bit of glue and strung together with green floss. The floss hangs down 12.75" from the bottom of the fower to the top of the beads. I strung a teal bead and a brown with gold speck glass bead at the end of each floss strand. When flattened, the flower is approximately 3.5" across. The string is long enough to accomodate some coffee table sized books.

Please keep in mind that this flower is paper and therefore somewhat fragile. It should not be placed anywhere that it would get wet or would be subject to abuse.

This item will most likely be shipped flattened out. To fluff it up just use both hands to pinch the flower at the creases.
