2007 - Year of the Wild Boar

Description

This is a linoleum block print on acid-free paper using black oil-based ink and watercolor. The edition size is 65 with 5 artist's proofs. It measures 4.25 x 6 inches. The image size measures 3 x 4 inches. The edition is signed and numbered.

Friends and family received this New Year's postcard in their mailboxes in January of 2007. There are about a dozen left.

2007 is the Year of the Wild Boar. However, this image depicts a more domesticated pig sporting eating utinsels, and sitting upright on a rug of some kind.

When I looked up the word: "Swine" in the dictionary, it seemed to indicate neither a wild nor domesticated animal. It was a neutral descriptor, so that is why I chose the title.
