halloween cut paper vegemorph vege-family 8x10 silver framed
Description
This is a paper cut Halloween image. It features a happy vege family. The images was cut out of one piece of paper. This type of art has a rich history. From www.china travel guide.com:
Paper-cut is a very distinctive visual art of Chinese handicrafts. It originated from the 6th century when women used to paste golden and silver foil cuttings onto their hair at the temples, and men used them in sacred rituals. Later, they were used during festivals to decorate gates and windows. After hundreds of years' development, now they have become a very popular means of decoration among country folk, especially women.
Also from elca.com I am influenced by German paper cut
Scherenschnitte means "scissors cut" in German. It refers to the craft of cutting elaborate designs in paper to make beautiful works of art. The craft dates back to the mid-1600s. It was most often done with black paper, and nature scenes within a heart was a common motif.
The image is in a 8x10 silver-toned frame. I signed and dated it under the image. Look for some more paper cuts coming soon.
