Think of a crisp fall day just before the Christmas season when the leaves have turned. That is what this piece shows me. I imagine standing in a forest surrounded by pine trees and falling maple leaves. Evocative layers of ink are built up to create this stunner. I only use top quality, professional materials to make my work. Hand printed on Japanese Kitataka paper with beautiful hand torn edges using fine Daniel Smith and Graphic Chemical printmaking ink. Signed, dated and numbered one of a kind on the back.
My process consists of carving multiple, often intricate blocks of wood, I then hand print them layer by layer until I have a satisfying final image. I highlight vibrant colors, create fine details and textures in all of my pieces.
