Necklace or Arm Strap

A hand made, primitive Native American style necklace made from a Pacific Ocean sea shell fragment. This may also be used as an ankle boot bangle or arm strap. The naturally holed shell is laced onto a supple leather thong strap with two jewel like blue genuine vintage (pre-1960's) glass Native American Crow Trade Beads. The simple beauty of nature! A tied square knot holds a necklace like this in place until the wearer decides to take it off; no clasp. Great for both men and ladies. Tie off closure makes it some what adjustable in length, though this is meant to be worn snug like a choker. Shell is about 1 1/2" and warm red/orange in color; richer than photo shows. The whole piece is 23" in length total.

Each piece is a unique creation -- no two are alike! The selection of jewelry is intended to reflect both ancient Crete and the mythical Atlantis. The mental picture was of a trades-person, at sea perhaps, passing time by crafting together traded trinkets. The Atlanteans were thought, by many, to have had similar styles, designs and motifs as the Minoans, and the ocean played a vital role to both societies. The sea was often expressed in art with the spiral and the presence of sea life in all manner of design. The Mystic Atlantis Primitive Jewelry Collection pretends that it is from this distant time with hand beaded and wire wrapped creations for today.
