First Swim -- Origami Crane Art ACEO

Description

This piece is meant to capture the moment a baby turtle leaves the land for the sea . . .

I used cream felt for the "sand" and two different fabrics -- one cotton, one sheer -- for the "sea." The turtle is made from 10 origami cranes. Green foil for the shell, gold foil in the head and flippers.

It is the standard ACEO size of 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 inches (approximately 6.35cm x 8.89cm), but it is not flat, and may be best suited to a shadowbox display rather than a plastic sleeve.

This is not a one of a kind piece, but each will have slight differences in the placement/shape of the elements as I don't work from patterns. It is signed and dated on the back.
