Pure Merino DK - CHARTREUSE
Description
DK weight100% Merino Wool
4-ply
approx. 246 yards
Gauge: 5.5 sts per inch using size 5 (3.75mm) needles
This yarn is a very bright chartreuse and lime green with some bits of turquoise peeking through here and there; not for the faint of heart! It's a basic merino wool that's great for soakers, hats, mittens, scarves and felting projects! Hand wash in cool water, lay flat to dry.
(For a similar wool yarn, see our Pure Peruvian.)
Each skein of yarn that I dye is in a one-of-a-kind colorway unless I do two or three skeins at once using the same method for each.
Most of them are dyed using Jacquard acid dyes, but I will also use Wilton's icing colors or Kool-Aid (or a combination of two or three of those) to get the colors and/or effects that I want to achieve.
There are also a variety of hand-dyeing techniques and methods that I employ to create my yarn colors, but my preferred method is kettle-dyeing. I love the subtle variation of color and the gentle blending of the various shades that can be achieved with this method.
Yarns can be wound into center-pull cakes before shipping if preferred.
If you have any questions or ideas (thoughts, criticisms, praise), please leave me a message and I'll reply as soon as I can. Thanks for looking!
