Seafarer Curly Q Necklace

Description

This curly Q necklace is made using freshwater pearls and handmade porcelain seashells. The delicate shells are glazed in lovely shades of aqua, mauve, and green and are among my favorite beads. The curly Q portion of the necklace dangles from a bronze-colored organza ribbon. The very special sterling silver box clasp features a sea-green cabochon with a white wisp hovering inside.

The headpins used to make this necklace are silver plated and are slightly tarnished to match the ribbon. There are four porcelain shells. The largest central shell measures about 1.5 inches in length, and the three smaller shells about an inch in length. The three small shells are arranged asymmetrically, just because. The clasp measures an inch at its widest point, and the entire necklace is about 15.5 inches in length.

Curly Q necklaces have a habit of developing a mind of their own. You can arrange the shells to all lay flat as you wear them, or lightly jumble up the beads a bit to get them to lay more randomly. Either way, this one is sure to get you noticed!
