Sheepy Battlets

Description

- 100% Wool Sheepy Battlets, un-dyed in a natural brown/grey wool color.
- 4 batts total, each 1 oz for a total of 4 ounces.

These sheepy battlets were hand-carded by me from natural wool from the 4-corners states that came as overstocks from the brown sheep mill. I pass the savings on to you as a great deal on this fiber.

Always wanted to spin with natural wool but wasn’t sure about all the prep work? The work has already been done and it’s ready to spin straight out of the box. The wool was cleaned and processed and then hand-carded into battlets.

Never spun batts before? It’s easy - just unroll the battlet and tear of a strip from the end. It’s already prepped so no little to no pre-drafting is necessary. Start spinning away!

The last picture in the set is a sample of the sheepy battlets spun up on my Lendrum ST wheel. I tore strips off the batt and pre-drafted lightly into 2 bobbins than plyed them together. I found this fiber preferred a backwards draw, the longer the better and spun up quite easily. It truly was a joy to spin! =)

Product Notes -
These are hand carded in a smoke-free, dog-friendly home. I don't allow my dogs in my fiber room however there is always a potential for allergies if you are sensitive.
