fine silver and dichroic glass cherry blossom pendant on chain

I made this pendant from fine silver (from art clay silver) and one of my kiln-formed dichroic glass cabochon. it has a cherry blossom design design, and it is attached with sterling silver wire and swarovski crystal wrapped links to textured sterling silver chain. the necklace measures about 17" long and has a sterling silver lobster claw clasp.

fine silver clays like art clay and pmc are made with particles of silver recycled from old film negatives, in a clay-like binder. when fired in a kiln, the binder burns off and what remains is a pure silver item (.999 silver, also called fine silver). It is less prone to tarnishing than sterling silver.
