Two Drawer Maple Keepsake or Jewelry Box

Description

Using beautiful maple hardwood, I have made a unique two drawer free-form box that can be used as a keepsake box or small jewelry box or even just as an interesting table or shelf decoration.

It was made by first laminating pieces of maple that have an interesting grain pattern. I then cut all the parts using a band saw, followed by extensive shaping and sanding. It was then finished by hand applying several coats of tung oil to give it a soft, deep “hand rubbed” finish.

The overall size is 7 inches tall, 5.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep. There are 2 drawers that are flocked with lush deep red fibers. The drawers do not have handles since they are pushed out by access holes in the rear (see photo of the rear of the box).

This keepsake jewelry box would make a unique gift for a special person or for yourself.
