Garlic Necklace Monotype Printmaking Mixed Media original Italian Man Portrait
Description
Garlic NecklaceOriginal 4.75 x 4.5 inch Monotype, Watercolor & Colored Pencil by Belinda Del Pesco
Garlic Necklace was printed on a 6 x 8 sheet of tan Arches printmaking paper, with Black Daniel Smith Etching ink, and painted with Winsor Newton Watercolors & Archival Colored Pencils.
The image was inspired by a 1978 photo my Grandfather, posing in the back yard, wearing a necklace of garlic cloves, and two Italian pendants on a chain.
Monotypes are made by painting on a smooth (not etched) plate, and pressing the still-wet pigments against paper to create a print of the image. (See pics in this listing) For this piece, I used black, oil based etching ink on a 4.75 x 4.5 inch zinc plate. The ink was rolled onto the plate with a brayer, and the figure was lifted out of the wet ink in a subtractive process with my finger tips, points and rags, etc.
This is an original, one of a kind, hand pulled, hand painted artwork.
It's offered here *unframed*. If you'd like to have it framed, please contact me for an estimate
