Exquisite Handmade Beaded Corset

Description

Beautiful handmade, beaded corset. I consider this to be more of a work of art than a piece of clothing. Measures 29" edge to edge at waist and 37" at bottom hip edge. Intended for a B cup. Outer fabric of the corset is a deep, dark green and black jacquard with a tiny bit of gold. I can't remember what the fiber content of the fabric is. Black and gold hand-beading runs along both of the opening edges and mimics the fabric pattern. The beading on this piece took over 20 hours to complete. There are three types of boning in this corset: steel coil (which is very flexible), plastic, and metal bar. The front edge closes by means of a loop and peg bar. The back is fully grommeted and laces with black satin rattail cord. The inside of the corset is fully lined in black satin with seaming that matches the outer shell. The edges are bound in black satin. Intricate seaming and godets are historically significant.

This is a very difficult piece to photograph, due to its dark color. If you would like additional photographs, please do not hesitate to ask.
