Steel Drum Cross

Description

The steel drum artists really have my attention. These wonderful workers take literally weeks to produce one item. They are recycling discarded oil drums into some of the most unique and classic art on the island of Hispanola. When I visit the steel drum community I enjoy standing with my eyes closed and listening to the "stomp" rhythms that occur when this art is created. Hammers and saws singing while steel is converted into timeless collectors' dreams.

This cross measures 17 " high by 11" across. There is a second cross attached to the bottom of the primary cross with a jump ring measuring 5" by 3".
