Love Me Knot Toddler Doll - Custom Made

I am now introducing the new Love Me Knot Toddler Doll. After multiple requests to make a stuffed bodied doll appropriate for older toddlers (in addition to the original Love Me Knot Teething Doll for babies and young toddlers), I went back to the drawing board and designed this new little cutie! Its features include:

~ Adorable hand-embroidered facial features
~ Colorful ribbon-loop accents on the hat to provide satisfying sensory stimulation (i.e. many children find comfort in rubbing the satin between their fingers)
~ Waldorf-inspired design using natural materials such as cotton and wool
~ Doll's bottom is stuffed with a "bean" bag (made of recycled poly-pellets) to give weight and stability to the doll, even making it able to sit with minimal support
~ Cotton Chenille hat and sleeper are sewn on; no tiny clothing items to worry about losing

Every Love Me Knot Doll is made with great love and care. The hands and face are stuffed, shaped, sewn and embroidered by hand. The body and hat are sewn on the machine with the ribbons being triple-sewn for safety and durability. Then the body is shaped and stuffed with wool and a cotton bean bag. Finally, each Love Me Knot Doll is then carefully assembled; the hat and body are hand-sewn onto the head, making each doll a labor of love especially for your precious little one!

What is Waldorf?
'Waldorf' is a term used to describe a philosophy of education founded by Rudolf Steiner in 1919. He believed, among other things, that young children thrive when spending lots of time playing with simple, low-tech toys made of natural materials. Love Me Knot Dolls are designed with this philosophy in mind. Toys like these inspire creativity and foster imaginative play in young children.

Why Wool?
Wool is an amazing fiber! Love Me Knot Dolls are stuffed with wool because wool is durable, resilient, and naturally flame-resistant. Wool also holds body heat and scent well-so cuddling the doll will make it "come alive" in your child's arms and the doll may well become a new favorite nighttime companion.

Why Recycled Poly-Pellets?
I choose to use poly-pellets in my dolls, even though they are not a "natural" material because I wanted a "bean bag" feel to the doll without having to use real beans, as real beans can sprout when they get wet. I choose to recycle old beanie-type stuffed toys from thrift stores to reuse what already exists, instead of buying new.

Measurements:
11" (28 cm) from the top of the head (not including hat) to the tip of the foot. The arm-span is about 10" (25.5 cm). Measurements will vary slightly from doll to doll.

Materials:
Body and hat: 100% Cotton Chenille
Head and Hands: 100% Wool stuffing covered with 100% Cotton Knit
Body stuffing: 100% Wool stuffing and recycled Poly-Pellets sealed in a Cotton bag
Satin Ribbon accents: 100% Polyester

Washing Instructions:
Love Me Knot Toddler Dolls can be spot cleaned with mild soap and cold water. Please do not wash in the washing machine, as the wool will become matted, resulting in a lumpy doll.

** Love Me Knot Toddler Dolls are intended for children over 18 months of age or for children who no longer put everything in their mouths.

*** Love Me Knot Dolls are stuffed with wool and are, therefore, not recommended for children with wool allergies. If wool allergies are a problem, I can make a custom doll stuffed with poly-fill instead.
