Description

This is part of a series on celestial bodies. Thuban was once the Earth's pole star thousands of years ago. Currently our pole star is Polaris but in the distant future Thuban will take the role as our pole star again.

Thuban is part of the constellation Draco and the word Thuban roughly translates to Basilisk or Dragon in Arabic. I felt it was necessary to keep to the mythology of a basilisk: king of serpents, with multiple limbs (or wings in this case). It is said that the gaze of a basilisk will kill, but I wanted to add a small amount of irony to the piece by making it beautiful and something you want to look at.

This is a print of an original painting. The print is on on archival Epson heavyweight matte paper with archival inks. The image area is 4.5" x 6" and total size of the print is 5" x 7". The print is also signed by yours truly!

Purchasing this print does not entitle the buyer to any rights to reproduce the art.
