This is a photo print of my original mixed media painting, "A Magical Countenance". The print measures 8"x10", is signed by the artist (me), and comes in a clear acetate sleeve with a mat-board backing. (The copyright watermark will not be in your print). The story behind the image:
I painted the original artwork using oils on 4 separate layers of plexiglass. The first layer consists of the dots that make up the face (which was inspired by the face of Venus, by Botticelli). The second layer is of the veins of the face (inspired by Gray's anatomy), and the third layer includes floating flowers (also inspired by the same by Botticelli image). The bottom layer is an abstract background of aqua blue. I decided to call her "Magical Countenance" simply because I feel that her gaze inspires tranquility and wonder.
