Fire Agate Cabochon Ring

Description

This particular fire agate is an absolutely beautiful, iridescent gemstone. The luminous color was once hidden under a thick layer of opaque chalcedony that was carefully removed to reveal the thin layers of iron oxide (limonite), which make up its beauty. The task of uncovering the iridescent layers requires an experienced, skilled hand. If limonite removal goes one layer too far, the stone is ruined. Fire Agate gems are found around the Colorado River and in some areas of Mexico.

I designed and made this hand-hewn shank out of 14k yellow gold and the bezel is 18k yellow gold. Framing the bezel are two bars wrought in 18k rose gold. The cabochon measures 21 mm x 14 mm. At a current size 12, and it weighs in at 15.2 grams.

I will size this ring for you at no cost, but only one time.
For sizing this ring, two extra days are needed, excluding weekends and holidays. When making this purchase, you will be given an option to leave a "message for seller", which is where to indicate the ring size you would like.
