Life Savers - Paint Candy Sculpture

Yum, Yummm! It's a giant Life Savers roll made completely of paint!

This is an original sculptural object from my "Paint Candy" series.

I made this from dried latex paint. I do a lot of painting with rollers at my job, and I leave the paint trays in the sun to dry. Rather than disposing of the paint, I peel the dried sheet of latex off, roll it up, and paint candy wrapper designs on them. The paint candies come in various sizes and textures depending on the tray they were peeled from. The rolls are sprayed with a protective varnish when completed then signed and dated on the backs.

The end results are big funky looking replicas of candy!

This piece measures 9" wide by 1.5" tall and is about 4.5" in circumference.
