Decorative throw pillow is approx. 19 inches square made of 100% cotton fabric. Striking Chrysanthemum design in shades of rust and soft coral on navy blue background framed with two borders. Coordinating solid navy blue thin wale corduroy backing.

Chrysanthemum (kiku) Motif History: Chrysanthemums came to Japan from China during the Nara era—not as a flower for show but rather as a medicine. During the Heian era, the flowers themselves began to be appreciated for their shape, color and fragrance and designs using the flowers began to appear. By the Kamakura era the chrysanthemum became the personal symbol of the emperor. Because of its beauty, the chrysanthemum has become a favorite flower of the Japanese, even considered to be the national flower. They’ve become symbolic of autumn, long life and an escape from the every day world.

Slip stitched invisible bottom closure—no zipper—includes a firm polyester pillow form.

Please note that because of their bulk and weight, pillows with their pillow forms included, require more postage than do most items even though I do ship using a lightweight heavy gage plastic mailer instead of cardboard. I cannot offer any shipping discount for any additional pillow purchases since they must be shipped one per package or the costs jump dramatically to oversize handling which is more than shipping them separately.
