Barnacle Whale Gocco print

Description

This whale is covered in a colony of barnacles so thick that they cover it's back in a pattern resembling lace. I was inspired by learning that every whale's barnacle patterns are unique and often used as identifying marks by researchers.

The image is a screen print of my original drawing, "Barnacle Whale" and is printed by hand using a PG-5 Gocco from Japan in the subtle pairing of white ink on pale aqua cardstock. The paper is acid free, archival, 30% recycled and measures 5"x7".

The prints are from a small edition of 19 and all come signed and numbered. There are only 18 available in this combination of colors. This is the first edition of prints made with this screen. I will never print the exact same color combination again but I plan to reuse the screen in the future in a different way.

Each will be mailed safely in a clear envelope inside a rigid cardboard mailer.
