Party Queen - focal lampwork glass bead

Description

Well, at least she was one a long time ago. She was beautiful and spirited. But now she's getting old and nothing seems the same again. Time has caught her - her body cannot keep up with time. But still, she loves those memories and she smiles as she thinking of the past. Suddenly she feels the rhythm again and feels like she wanna start to dance...

Party Queen is a lampwork glass bead from my portrait series, which I've started a year ago (how it has started http://glasfaden.blogspot.com/2008/01/portrait-series.html). Each of them is a personality and one of a kind. You can either collect it or wear it as a pendant. This listing includes the bead only. The wire shown on the 2nd picture is only to show you, how the bead looks like if hung as a pendant on a choker - it's therefore not part of the listing.

It measures approx. 3.6cm/1.4" long, 3.4cm/1.3" wide (2.2cm/0.9" from hole to hole) and 1.4cm/0.5" at the thickest point. The hole is about 2mm/0.08" wide and cleaned thoroughly on a grinder.

I've made the bead in my home studio using Italian soft glass aka soda lime glass (partially with silver contained and air-bubbled glass). The bead is properly annealed in a digitally controlled kiln.

I'm sure, most of you are aware of these things.
But for those who don't, I think I should say...
• Please be aware of choking hazard - this item is not suitable for children under 6 y.o.
• Please do not wear this item while being active (e.g. in sport, while playing with small children, etc.).
• Although the bead is properly annealed to ensure strength, it's still made of glass, so it may break if it falls and you may get injured by broken glass. So please handle it with care and be careful. If you do so, I'm sure you'll enjoy this bead for a long time.
