Hearts Afire BFL Battlets

Description

- 95% Blue Faced Leicester (BFL) & 5% icicle sparkle
- 3 batts total, each approx 1 oz for a total of 3 ounces.

They were hand-dyed by me with permanent, professional washfast dyes. I card each color multiple times for fluffiness and ease of spinning and then blend them one last time together into a bi-colored battelet. There’s lots of Valentine's cheer in these – beautiful red and white colors, it will look just like a heart when you’re done!

BFL is a wonderful spinning fiber, great for beginners and experts alike. If you’ve never spun from a batt before, this is a great fiber to start with. Unroll the battlet and tear of a strip from the end. It’s already prepped so no pre-drafting is necessary. Start spinning away!

The last picture in the set is an example of how this battlet spins up and is not included in the purchase. I spun that yarn in a DK-weight single on my Schacht Matchless wheel. I spun from the battlet by tearing of strips and pre-drafting lightly to keep both colors intact. The finished yarn is quite beautiful and eye-catching!

Product Notes -
These are hand carded in a smoke-free, dog-friendly home. I don't allow my dogs in my fiber room however there is always a potential for allergies if you are sensitive.
