Description:
This skirt design is, by far, my favorite because it looks great on the body and, by jove, it's got a uterus pocket. I first came up with to solve the problem of wanting to bring a few things when I go out (to the bar, to a show, to gad about town) but always losing important things (keys, money, cigarettes, a phone) out of the flimsy side pockets on most women's clothes. My solution: the uterus pocket. You can put stuff in it, dance and thrash around all night, and nothing falls out and no one steals your stuff without you knowing about it. (As an added bonus, it may even make pretty ladies talk to you.)

The uterus pocket is roughly 7.5 inches long and 4.5 inches wide at the top opening. The pocket is just about the right size for keys and a small wallet, or makeup and a phone, or your hand, or your friend's hand. The applique (satin stitched) and top opening of the pocket are both stress tested (meaning, I yank away at it after a thorough washing).

The skirt itself is A-line in shape and hits just at the knee. The waist features an elastic band, fully encased in fabric, to give the waistband a little structure and stretch.

Fabric:
Re-purposed knit polyester. The main body is a lovely light pink with tan (beige) and hot pink plaid stripes, all with ivory accenting in the weave. The uterus pocket is in a sturdy hot pink that features white polka dots. It's dreamy.

A note about sizing:
Because of its elastic-encased waistband (no closures to break or jam), you'll need to be able to stretch the waist over your hips (or bust) to get into the skirt. The maximum stretch of this skirt is 40 inches. If you like to wear skirts or pants "low" (on your hips, not at your natural waist), make sure that you're measuring for the "waist" where you want the waistband to be when you wear the skirt.
