Description

Graphic simplicity, modern ingredients, with a healthy helping of vintage.... As I built this necklace I was reminded of old comic books and simple line drawings with bold splashes of solid color....

One of a kind. Just like you.

A heart-shaped pool of juicy red Bakelite captured in a handmade, high bezel of sterling and fine silver (.925 and .999 respectively)brushed to a satin/brushed finish.... Hanging from a chain of square edged circular links and a double strand of snake chain....

The Bakelite is vintage (30 + years old)... The top surface is unpolished, actually I should say that it is polished enough... Smooth but if you look at it from the right angle you an see slight surface striations from the sawblade that sliced this piece of delicious....

The circular links and the heart shaped bezel setting were made by me, by hand, flame, and some handy tools... The snake chain and nicely sized sterling silver lobster claw clasp in the back were components purchased and tweaked by me...

The chain hangs 20" long and the heart hangs another 1.5" from the chain... The heart portion is substantial in thickness at 1/4" thick but remains lightweight (ahhhh plastics...)
